Chai Tea Mix (Diabetic)

23 Dec

I tried adding this mix to both hot water and milk. I encourage you to try both, as well as various amounts of the mix, to find the perfect mix for you. For me, the perfect mixture is 8 oz of hot milk and 3 tbsp of mix (which tastes a lot like the Chai Tea Lattee from Starbucks!). Enjoy!

Chai Tea

  • 1 c nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1 c non-dairy powdered coffee creamer
  • 1 c french vanilla flavored non-dairy coffee creamer
  • 2 1/2 c Splenda (or sugar if you prefer)
  • 1 1/2 c unsweetened instant tea
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

1.Pour all ingredients into a food processor and blend until all ingredients are mixed throughout.

Add 2-4 tablespoons of this mixture to 8 oz or milk or water. The more mixture you add, the stronger the flavors. Makes approximately 36 servings.

Notes: I used Carnation nonfat dry milk powder and Nestle creamer and tea. Also, if you’re not willing to pay $13 for a bottle of cardamom, which I wasn’t, go to a local grocery store, like Sprouts, where they sell spices by the ounce, and purchase a tablespoon for less than $1.
