A Little About Me

I started this blog in 2011 on a whim. I’ve always loved to cook, and people always complimented my dishes, so why not share my love?

Ever since I was little, I have enjoyed cooking. It started out with just baking and decorating cakes for fun, for my family. Remember when people would ask us what we want to be when we grow up? Well I wanted to be a pastry chef. As far back as I can remember, being in the kitchen, baking and decorating cakes was soothing. Everything else went away and I could just focus on the task at hand. I really get in the zone when I’m in the kitchen.

My passion for cooking got me into the culinary arts magnet at the local high school. There, I learned techniques I never heard of and recipes I never dreamed of attempting. Though I loved cooking, it became evident that I did not want to cook for a career. I was afraid I would lose the love and passion if I HAD to do it. I’d rather WANT to do it.

While I may not be the pastry chef that I aspired to be when I was little, I still enjoy cooking. Actually, I enjoy cooking much more now than I did then. I love going out and finding new recipes to try. Whether it’s from a website or a cookbook I’ve picked up.

In 2012, I tried Medifast for 2 months and lost 15 pounds. You’ll notice that I have a page devoted to Medifast recipes. You’ll also notices that I have a page devoted to gluten free recipes. While I am not allergic to gluten, I am sensitive to it in large amounts. I try to limit my intake when I can. enjoy taking non-healthy recipes and making them Medifast and/or gluten free friendly. I like the challenge and love freedom to alter recipes to fit my wants, tastes, and needs..

I’ve always posted pictures on Facebook of some of the things I have cooked and after being asked for the recipes, I decided it’s time to take it a step further. I’ve talked about it before, but here it finally is:

A blog of some of the best recipes I have discovered and cooked.

Stay tuned.. you never know what recipes you may stumble upon here.
